It’s was a particularly harsh winter here. Usually, this time of year all the trees have grown their leaves back, but I haven’t seen a single one budding yet.
I’m looking forward to seeing what spring looks like this year when it decides to show up. It has been my experience that the later it comes, the more impressive it is.

Yes we had a rough winter. I think a winter like that is actually better for the plants and trees, it gives them a good solid time to rest. And a late spring ensures that the new growth will not be touched by a late frost.
It makes all the effort of digging the trench, sifting rocks, enriching the soil, etc. feel worthwhile when you see those little sprouts poke up!

The snow has all melted here but Persephone seems reluctant to come back where I live. It has been nice and sunny for a few days but with gray and windy weather still lulling about. Last year we were still getting snow in May and didn’t even have the chance to experience spring! Global warming I should suspect.
